I'm sorry but I stopped reading half way through the book . This was more like a story than a strategy. To be debt free you need to have a work that covers you tuition and find a place that you could cover rent by working for the landlord and cheap enough to be affordable. He owned his lawn mower service that paid well. Would this be an piratical solution for my daughter who will be entering college this fall? I just don't get how this book got a solid 5 stars from every reviewers.

I believe every student and parent who read it will be convicted not only to avoid student debt but to avoid debt in general as much as possible throughout life. I found the advice so practical I’m insisting my three teenagers read it! Big congratulations and thanks to Jordan Hall for proving it can be done, setting the example, and sharing his story so candidly.

It is a good text if you want all the detailed mathematical proofs and concepts. It's a little dense if you just want an introduction or overview.

I bought this because it was 'required' for my graduate level medical imaging course. It is however, not up to par for what a biomed. eng. or medical physicist would want/need. It is more appropriate for a medical student interested in imaging or a radiology resident. For the course, we quickly ended up referring to Jerry Prince's Medical Imaging Signals and Systems, which goes much more in depth into the math, yet explains it really well.

Perhaps he gives a voice to those who are guilty as well. Our justice system is shockingly corrupt and inhumane.

It amazes me how quickly someone's life can change in the blink of an eye into utter darkness and despair for doing nothing but being decent towards another human being....this book helped me to realize and remember never to judge another person's situation because you never know.......that could be your situation someday.....I'm also amazed of the actions of our government employees in our jail systems how they are able to abuse their power and get away with it.....very sad and disappointing. This is truly a book with reading!

The book was read and the review is by my Wife Esther.I just finished reading the book that I purchased from Amazon Kindle and would recommend it to anyone interested in what could happen to you if someone wanted to "get even" by using the Court system. How fair is the Judge and how good is your attorney?I feel bad if someone is not guilty but the Court says they are guilty and the family (Mother, Father, Wife, Kids), relatives, neighbors, friends, people at work, etc. must suffer from the results. You may lose your job and not find another one. You may have a record for the rest of your life. The out of pocket cost for you and your family could be a hardship for a long time.The book is food for thought and you will want to read it to the finish.

There used to be a saying that went the American Justice systems, for all its flaws, is the best in the world. This story is a brutally stark reminder that this is not the case. Through years of apathy, graft, and poor oversight, the American Justice System has become a shadow of itself, with many crying out against it, but the status quo staying just that. This story represents a single example of the over all national problem. Actually, it touches on two HUGE problems...the flawed Judicial system as well as a hugely flawed Sex Offender Registry...and follows the author's nightmarish introduction to what has always been beneath the surface, always out of focus. It is well written and very human. I deduct a star only for not picking either (or both) problem and more properly supplying facts and figures to illustrate just how bad the problem(s) have become. An engaging read, highly recommended.

I read it in 2 days and I found it to be a very accurate story of how our judicial system really works.Easy read, the chapters are short and to the point. It shows how you are guilty until proven innocent and even if you are innocent their is no guarantee that you will go free. It is a false sense of security we have about the system. It is not always just, or fair.There is such a hysteria in this country about sexual crimes that no one can get a fair trial. Once convicted you are marked for life and treated like a lepre.I urge you to get this book, you will be glad you did.A real eye opener! You could be next!

Shaun Webb is an excellent writer who captivates our attention. His writing style pulls us into his story and has us turning the pages faster and faster. There is a major lesson to be learned through this particular story. Are any of us immune to the justice system? Do we really own our own personal freedom or can our freedom be taken away, in the blink of an eye, and our lives turned upside down just because someone else desires attention or isn't getting what they want? Aren't we all supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, beyond a shadow of a doubt, or are the words of a lier more potent to the justice system then our own personal words of truth? The main characters of this story, names changed to protect the innocent and guilty alike, are people just like you and me; every day people who are living in your own neighborhood. Who can you trust? Who can't you trust? You did an excellent job telling this story. This is a topic that most Authors would shy away from, but you were brave enough to bring this important story to our attention. I highly recommend this book to anyone who desires to know the truth and desires to help change our outdated ways of viewing these types of situations. I can only wonder about how many innocent people are sitting in our prisons today, doing hard time, for a crime they have not committed.

Malidoma Patrice Somé, born in Upper Volta (now Burkina Faso) West Africa, is initiated in the ancestral traditions of his tribe, and is a medicine man and diviner in the Dagra culture. One of the best books I have read on African Shamanism, and it offers a lot of insight into the consciousness of the shamans of Africa, and why westerners don't get it. A must read for the serious shamanic practitioner, and I have been studying shamanism for 45 years. Highly recommend this book.

LIFE ALTERING, POWERFUL, AMAZING BOOK. I imagine you would have to be in a place to understand how far we have gotten away from living in unity and oneness with the forces of this planet and other realms. This book is a gift to humanity, if you're in a place to accept it. There is something to be said for the indigenous way of life, THE OLD WAYS, and there is no denying the modern world is suffering tremendously because of it's disconnection. This book is worth reading and gifting. Thank you, Mr. Malidoma Some, for your knowledge and wisdom and for having courage to share it!!!

This is one of the best books on spiritual concepts I have ever read. Malidoma presents the ideas so lucidly and with so much understanding, that one can grasp the profundity of the concept in its broadest sense, far beyond African or traditional or tribal beliefs.If you are a student of metaphysics, humanity, spirituality and all that lies inside, get this book. It is a tour de force.

This book is a helpful guide through experiences that white Americans seldom see. Rich with detail and magic, this is a window into possible better ways of relating to others and the world around us.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and I really enjoyed the feeling of being among the Dagara tribe and feeling the love and true community that these people share. I felt a constant stream of love from Some to his readers through the entire book. I could just tell that if he could help heal every human on earth, he would. I got a great sense of perspective about how much a sense of community is missing from our American culture and how much better off we could all be if we came together and recognized each person's gifts, instead of everyone living so privately the way we do. The book gave me a lot of ideas to try with my family and group of friends, and I hope I am able to put some rituals into practice.I am grateful that this book was recommended to me, I hope the energy of this book stays with me my whole life and helps me radiate the kind of compassion that the author has shared.

I read this book because I'd just read his autobiographical story in "Of Water and the Spirit." I knew his outer life, now I wanted to know more of his inner life. How could I know that "The Healing Wisdom of Africa" would teach me more about MY inner life!This man is the "real deal," when it comes to wisdom, whether it be of a spiritual, mystical, political, cultural or social kind. I wish every white person, especially in America, would read this book. Malidoma Some gets to the heart of our problems and does so without blame, with natural authority, true humility and great love: rare combinations! His words are gentle, yet unbelievably strong. His insights are brilliant and his language exquisite. He knows the value of the individual as well as the group. He respects children, how unusual! He understands how we got to the place in America of suicide being the No. 1 killer of our teens. He understands "the great White loneliness," (my words)and he knows how to connect us up again, not only to the God within, but to each other.This book is nicely subversive, as well. Perhaps that is why it hasn't become a national best seller. We throw our Africans away, don't we? We always have. And what does a black man, of all things, have to teach us, we who are so superior in our technology and indifference? Only the way home. To ourselves, to our God, to each other.Quotes:"Matter is the skin of Spirit.""To produce beauty consistently requires a healthy community."
